Experiences

Fountain at Quamby EstateQuamby Estate’s original buildings include the granary, machinery shed and shearing shed, all reminders of the history of this once working agricultural estate. The wonderful old Georgian stables have been converted to house the walking base for our Cradle Mountain Huts and Bay of Fires walks. From here, the daily walks depart and return, making a stay at Quamby Homestead a convenient option.

Quamby is also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas of Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Here is just a selection of the varied experiences available within a short drive:
  • Learn the art of fly fishing
  • Take a Cliffs and Cave Tour - from the Alum Cliffs to the Marakoopa Caves
  • Explore the vineyards of the Tamar Valley Wine Route
  • Uncover treasures in the art & crafts and antique shops of Deloraine and Westbury
  • Enjoy a walk through the cool, temperate rainforest of Liffey Falls State Reserve
  • Ride the world’s longest single-span chairlift at Cataract Gorge in Launceston
  • Taste honey at the Tasmanian Honey Company in Perth
  • Experience another example of Tasmania’s heritage and the National Rose Garden at Woolmers Estate in Longford
